Job summary

Woodward is seeking an Assembly and Test Associate 1 to join our manufacturing team in Michigan. You will assemble and test products per documented procedures, conduct inspections, and maintain a clean, safe work area on the 1st shift (6:00 AM - 2:00 PM).

Candidates should have basic mechanical aptitude, strong attention to detail, and the ability to follow lean practices and SOPs, with opportunities for training, development, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of mechanical aptitude.
• U.S. Person under ITAR/EAR or eligible to obtain required authorizations.

Responsibilities

• Assemble Product: follow documented procedures to assemble product components using specified tools and equipment.
• Test Product: follow documented procedures to test product using specified tools and equipment.
• Quality: conduct inspections and tests to verify accuracy and functionality and record data per standards.

Estimated hourly base pay:

• Hourly Rate: $20.50

• Hours: 1st Shift, Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM

• Training Hours: 8:00 AM- 4:00 PM (1st Week Only)

What You Will Be Doing:

• Assemble Product: Follows documented procedures to accurately and efficiently assemble product components using specified tools and equipment.

• Test Product: Follows documented procedures to accurately and efficiently test product using specified tools and equipment,

• Quality: Conducts inspections and tests to verify the accuracy and functionality of products and records and maintains data per operating standards.

• Organization & Cleanliness: Adheres to 5S principles by keeping workstations clean, organized, and free of unnecessary items. Follows established guidelines to ensure tools, materials, and equipment are properly stored and maintained.

• Safety Mindset: Adheres to all established safety protocols, procedures, and regulatory requirements; maintains mindfulness of self and surrounding work area to promote a safe working environment.

What We Are Looking For:

• Technical Capability: Understands and follows basic technical instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

• Critical Thinking: Identifies gap-to-standard and resolves or escalates them per standard processes/procedures.

• Mechanical Aptitude: Demonstrates basic understanding of mechanical systems and components. Uses hand tools and basic equipment safely and effectively. Can assemble and test products and may perform basic setups of equipment.

Successful candidates typically have:

• High School Diploma, or GED Equivalent

• 1+ years of Mechanical Aptitude
