Job summary

Castelion is seeking an Assembly and Integration Technician to support the assembly, integration, and testing of aerospace and defense hardware. You will collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, quality and test teams to build and integrate mechanical assemblies per drawings and quality requirements.

The role involves hands-on development, reading schematics, working in a clean room, and mentoring junior technicians while leading daily activities across production cells.

Qualifications

• Associates degree with 3+ years of technician experience or high school with 5+ years in a technician role.
• Experience assembling flight hardware and reading assembly procedures.
• Knowledge of ESD fundamentals required.
• Ability to read drawings and assembly procedures accurately.
• Willingness to travel and work extended weeks when required.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on component and subassembly development, assembly, and test.
• Read electrical schematics, drawings, and ICDs.
• Follow assembly procedures; record results and discrepancies.
• Work in clean room to assemble hardware.
• Operate flight hardware qualification test equipment (thermal, vibration).
• Incoming inspection and data collection on components.
• Mentor and lead junior assembly technicians; manage workloads.

Assembly and Integration Technician

Castelion is seeking an Assembly & Integration Technician to support the assembly, integration, and testing of complex aerospace and defense hardware. In this role, you will work closely with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and test teams to build and integrate mechanical and electromechanical assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality requirements.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on component and subassembly development, assembly, and test
• Reading and understanding electrical schematics, drawings, and ICDs
• Following assembly procedures; record results and discrepancies
• Working in clean room to assemble hardware
• Operating flight hardware qualification test equipment (e.g., Thermal, Vibration, standard lab power supplies)
• Incoming inspection and data collection on components
• Data verification, collection, and organization (component COC/COA/Travelers)
• Ability and willingness to perform moderate physical tasks, such as lifting, carrying, bending, continuous standing
• Performing other various tasks, including, but not limited to: cleaning and maintaining laboratory equipment, ordering and picking up supplies
• Assisting engineers and other technicians
• Performing all other duties as assigned
• Serve as a mentor and technical lead for junior assembly and integration technicians, guiding their professional development and technical skills
• Direct daily activities and manage workloads across production cells while maintaining a hands-on presence as a working lead technician

Basic Qualifications

• Associates degree and three (3) years of experience as a technician, or high school and five (5) years of experience as a technician
• Demonstrated experience assembling flight hardware
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with ESD fundamentals is required
• Demonstrated ability to accurately read drawings, and assembly procedures, and other related documentation
• Experience interpreting assembly drawings
• Experience mixing and applying epoxies and adhesives
• Some travel may be required
• Potential for supporting extended work weeks during some phases of assembly, integration and test, as necessary
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work around industrial equipment
• Ability to wear required PPE, climb ladders, and work in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD clearance
