We are redefining outdoor autonomy with Bonsai Intelligence, a connected platform that’s inspired by biology to see, think, and act with precision like a human. We bring together advanced perception, embodied AI, integrations with equipment manufacturers, and our compact, modular Amiga vehicles to deliver reliable automation to the world’s most demanding field operations—reducing costs and increasing operational efficiencies.

About the role

Bonsai Robotics builds vision-based autonomous solutions for the agriculture sector, enabling vehicles to operate autonomously in challenging environments without GPS or cellular connections. We're looking for a hands-on Assembly and Fulfillment Technician to build, test, and ship our hardware — working closely with engineering and operations to turn drawings and specs into working systems, and get finished orders out the door on time.

What you'll do
  • Assemble mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical subassemblies per engineering drawings and work instructions
  • Install wiring harnesses, connectors, sensors, actuators, and PCBs with precision and care
  • Flash and verify the latest firmware on PCB assemblies, performing checks to confirm successful installation and version accuracy
  • Install and validate software updates across all compute platforms, ensuring version accuracy
  • Maintain up-to-date configuration files to ensure products reflect the latest releases
  • Perform functional tests and first-article inspections on completed assemblies
  • Perform quality checks at every stage of production, including final assembly and pre-shipping inspection
  • Identify and elevate defects or build issues, and participate in root-cause investigations
  • Support customer success by diagnosing and repairing sub-assemblies, robots, and other products as needed
  • Pick, build, and verify customer orders against packing slips and order documentation
  • Pack finished robots, subassemblies, and spare parts securely for safe transit
  • Coordinate with the operations team to meet daily shipment cut-off times
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts and flag stock discrepancies
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production and fulfillment workspace (5S standards)
  • Support engineers during prototype builds and field-readiness evaluations
  • Document build steps, deviations, and quality observations in the production tracking system
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that reduce build time and improve yield
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience in electromechanical assembly, manufacturing, or a related
  • hands-on technical role
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions
  • Comfort with hand tools, basic soldering, and precision assembly work
  • Strong attention to detail and a quality-first mindset
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Good written communication for documentation and quality logs
  • Experience with inventory or order-fulfillment systems is a plus
