JobsRUs.com is seeking an Assembler/Tester for our client in Camarillo, CA. The role operates on the 2nd shift (Start 01:45 PM – End 11:15 PM), Monday through Friday, with benefits and weekly pay. You will assemble or test moderately complex products and ensure on-time delivery while maintaining quality.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and 2+ years aerospace assembly/test experience, plus ability to read blueprints and use test equipment. Some soldering may be required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years aerospace assembly or test experience preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints, routes, and test specifications.
  • Basic mathematical calculations and data recording skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble or test moderately complex products to meet quality and schedule.
  • Record test results and use test equipment and measurement tools.
  • Interpret blueprints, orders, and specifications; rework as needed.
  • Perform touch-up painting and soldering per customer requirements where applicable.
  • Support lean initiatives and collaborate with team members.

Job Description

Accurately and efficiently assembles or tests a variety of moderately complex products to achieve customer quality and on-time delivery schedules.
May perform lockwiring, first stage subassembly, and final detailing functions. Works on products that contain mechanical components, single hydraulic systems, and multiple part numbers.
Actively contributes to lean initiatives to increase productivity and reduce costs.
Receives general supervisory guidance.

Essential Functions
  • Performs moderately complex assembly or test functions utilizing mechanical skills, hand and power tools, mechanical or electronic tools, test equipment, assembly fixtures, and inspection measurement equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Records test results on data forms using moderately complex electrical equipment and flow measurement devices.
  • May use X-Y recorders, oscilloscopes, transducers, and other related equipment.
  • Identifies malfunctions disclosed by test data and reworks as instructed.
  • Interprets blueprints, engineering orders, assembly routes, test specifications, service bulletins, customer requirements, and quality directives.
  • Produces and inspects assemblies that conform to product specifications. Assembles, tests, and solders to customer and industry standards.
  • Performs touch-up or full surface painting of parts with finishing materials such as paint, lacquer, glaze, etc.
  • Mixes paint and cleans parts.
  • Actively participates in lean initiatives by identifying and providing suggestions on areas for improvement.
Qualification
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two or more years aerospace industry related experience in assembly or test in a manufacturing environment or mechanical experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Demonstrate product and process knowledge by applying it to newly learned techniques.
  • Able to select appropriate procedures, techniques, tools, and equipment.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding blueprints, route sheets, and test specifications.
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations, as well as demonstrate effective verbal, written, and basic computer skills.
  • Possess strong mechanical reasoning.
  • Able to implement and effectively apply lean initiatives.
  • Possess effective interpersonal communication skills, as well as the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Able to interpret reports and use standard business software applications.
  • Able to use employee self-service to access on-line information and use specialized automated systems (i.e. PMR, TORS, e-mail).
  • May require soldering certification per customer requirements.
  • Ability to effectively demonstrate team member competencies and participate in goal setting, performance feedback, and self-development activities.
  • Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.
Typical Mental and Physical Demands
  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods of time.
  • The team member is required to demonstrate manual dexterity and use hands to operate machinery.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
  • Also expected of the team member is regular attendance, and the ability to work cooperatively and professionally with others.
