J.B. Poindexter & Co., Inc. is seeking a Highly Skilled Assembler at Reading Truck operations in Reading, PA. The role involves assembling and mounting various body components, using hand and power tools, and installing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.

Responsibilities include selecting parts, cutting plywood and e-track, and securing components with screw and rivet guns. Mechanical or electrical experience is preferred for this hands-on manufacturing position.

Qualifications

• Mechanical or electrical experience preferred.
• Experience with assembling or installing mechanical/electrical components is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Pull parts from inventory based on the job order.
• Assemble parts to form the Dry Freight body sides.
• Install/replace body parts as required.
• Cut plywood with circular saw for interior walls.
• Cut e-track with band saw for interior walls.
• Install plywood and e-track with screw and rivet guns.
• Mount and connect equipment (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic).

How You Will Make an Impact

Our assemblers handle light and average weight parts, hand and power tools. The Highly Skilled Assembler will mount and connect auxiliary, mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumonic, or hydraulic equipment.

The Nuts and Bolts

• Responsible for manually pulling all parts from inventory based on the job order
• Assemble the parts based on the job order to form the Dry Freight body sides.
• Assembling, installing, or removing body parts
• Use a circular saw to cut sheets of plywood for installation to the interior walls of the unit
• Use a band saw to cut e-track for installation to the interior walls of the unit
• Installation of both the plywood and e-track with the use of a screw gun and rivet gun
• Responsible for uncoiling roofing material, measuring and shearing material to size and installing onto top of truck body
• Mount and connect auxiliary, mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumonic, or hydraulic equipment

Required Credentials

• Mechanical or Electrical experience preferred
