Job summary

Ultra Maritime is seeking an assembly technician to join our defense manufacturing team. You’ll work hands-on with hand and power tools to assemble critical components used in naval systems, learning on-the-job through structured training.

You will be part of a disciplined, team-oriented environment that values precision, safety, and production quality, with a Monday–Thursday evening shift and potential overtime on Fridays.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years warehouse or manufacturing experience.
  • U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work on government programs.
  • Ability to read and follow instructions in English.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and sub-assemble components using hand tools.
  • Read and follow written instructions; ensure quality and precision.
  • Work collaboratively in a team to meet production goals.

Position Summary

Be part of a team producing advanced defense products that protect our nation and allies worldwide. In this role, you’ll work hands-on with a variety of hand and power tools to assemble and sub-assemble critical components, learning the craft through on-the-job training that builds your expertise.

This is more than just assembly. It’s precision, teamwork, and innovation in action. You’ll contribute directly to high-quality, mission‑critical products while growing your skills in a supportive, team‑oriented environment where your work truly matters.

Monday – Thursday 5:00 pm - 3:30 am, Possible OT Friday

Starting Pay $21.90, Raise at 6 months $22.40, Raise at 12 months $23.75

Education and Experience Requirements
  • 1+ years of warehouse, assembly, or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • HS Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
  • Due to U.S. government contract requirements, candidates must be U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, or otherwise legally authorized to obtain the necessary government approvals.
Skills And Qualifications
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions in English.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to distinguish component colors and wiring (color vision required).
  • Proficient in using hand tools and small parts assembly.
  • Basic math skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to meet production goals.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with team members and follow instructions, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Work well with others in team setting.
  • Ability to cross train and rotate jobs often.
Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 12 hours per shift).
  • Regular movement may include frequent bending, stretching, lifting, walking, and repetitive motion.
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to:
    • 10 lbs regularly

    • 50 lbs occasionally
  • Requires use of hands for fine motor tasks and assembly.
  • Ability to move throughout the facility and work in various positions (kneeling, crouching, reaching, etc.).
  • Visual abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Work Environment
  • Work is performed in a temperature‑controlled manufacturing environment.
  • Frequent collaboration in a team‑based setting.
  • Occasional exposure (10%–33%) to noise, dust, chemicals, and machinery.
  • Job involves repetitive tasks, concentration on small components, and hand/eye coordination.
