Job summary

SMS group USA is seeking a Mechanical Assembler for the night shift (8pm–6am) to support our industrial equipment manufacturing for the steel industry. You will assemble and disassemble components, document daily activities, and maintain a clean, safe work environment.

We are looking for hands-on mechanics with good tool skills, shop math ability, blueprint reading, and a proactive mindset to identify and solve flow issues.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical skills.
• Good working knowledge of mechanical tools.
• Basic shop math and measurement skills.
• Blueprint reading and interpretation.
• Self-motivated with problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to learn and understand critical processes in assigned areas.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and disassemble various components.
• Document daily activities.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
• Perform cleaning, grinding, painting, and related tasks.
• Clean up, remove trash, coolant, oil, scrap, chips.
• Report unsafe acts to management.
• Complete Maintenance Request Forms when repairs are needed.

Night Shift 8pm - 6am

Shift Sunday Night - Friday Morning

Summary

The right candidate will

• Be a safety minded person who enjoys hands on work.
• Ability to assemble and disassemble various components.
• Document daily activities
• Must possess good mechanical skills in daily operations.
• Performs cleaning, grinding, painting and all related tasks to buildings, equipment, components, and subassemblies.
• Performs clean up, removal of trash, coolant, oil, scrap, chips, etc.
• Must be courteous and work well with others.
• Complete Maintenance Request Forms for items in work area in need of repair
• Maintaining a safe and clean working environment, upholding a world-class standard of housekeeping.
• Ability to work with a safety conscientious attitude and report any unsafe acts or area to members of management.

What You’ll Need

• Good mechanical skills
• Good working knowledge of mechanical tools.
• Mathematics – Knows basic shop math, and other functions necessary for the job
• Blueprint reading - interprets drawings
• Self-motivation to identify, analyze and independently work to find solutions to flow issues is essential.
• Ability to learn and understand critical processes and operations in assigned areas.
