CED's current salary range for this role is $23.00 to $26.00/hour. At CED, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions may vary based upon, but not limited to education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, location and geography. In addition to base salary, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program. JOB SUMMARY

The Initiator Assembly Technician will work on the production floor, assembling small, complex electro‑explosive initiators utilizing standardized procedures in the manufacture of devices for aerospace industry leaders. Assembly processes include, but are not limited to, laser engraving, epoxy potting, weighing and loading, crimping, welding, and reaming. This role will consist of utilizing hand and small tools, as well as measuring and test devices to perform job duties.

Requirements
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
  • Ability to use basic hand tools in order to build and troubleshoot assemblies
  • Attention to detail when using scales and measuring devices for small intricate amounts and sizes
  • Ability to follow work instructions, procedures and drawings, while maintaining quality top focus
  • Comfortable working with small components under microscopes for extended periods of time
  • Demonstrated high level effectiveness for English oral and written communication
  • Ability to interpret Work Instructions and maintain a strong attention to detail throughout record keeping and documentation.
  • Operate specialized manufacturing and automated equipment
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain working environment and personal appearance in line with company policies.
  • Performs other work‑related duties as assigned

High School diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE

Some experience within a manufacturing environment is preferred

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Lawful US person (ITAR restrictions)
  • Must be eligible to possess explosive under the Safe Explosives Act of 2003 (as amended) as required by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (BATF) for all employees of Chemring Energetic Devices.
  • Experience with work instructions, techniques, guidelines, policies, and procedures
  • Able to work carefully on small, detailed parts that require steady hands and accurate placement
  • Utmost attention to detail
  • Knowledge of PPE requirements
  • Ability to read, comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions
