Job description

Eaton’s AER FED Fluid Electrical Distribution division is currently seeking a Assembler II - 1st Shift to join our team in Torrance, CA!

The core hours are 6 am - 2:30 pm.

The hourly rate for this position is 22.96 per hour.

What you’ll do:
  • Perform soldering and assembly abilities to IPC-610 Class 3 & J-Std-001 soldering requirements.
  • Be responsible for building complex electronic assemblies, terminal boards, printed circuit boards, and heat sinks.
  • Work from drawing assembly, bill of materials, special model sheet and other input documents.
  • Cross-train in different production areas as needed
  • Be able to use soldering and de-soldering skills to produce products.
  • Use measuring equipment, test equipment and hand tools as needed (air drivers, screw drivers, wrenches, presses, and other tooling fixtures).
  • Be required to read and interpret drawings, bill of materials, and blueprints.
  • Be make minor procedural decisions in soldering, fitting and other variances within the established guidelines of workmanship standards.
  • Receive detailed instructions on new assignments and limited instructions on routine work
  • Be able to match drawings to bill of materials
  • Perform visual and electrical checks
  • Be part of the team to maintain and support a safe, clean work environment.
  • Be part of facilitating ongoing continuous improvement in support of quality, productivity and growth objectives compatibility and safety of electrical systems.
Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required from an accredited institution.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in related manufacturing assembly operations
Skills:
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow product specifications, drawings and work orders.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbally.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to follow process specifications
  • Ability to handle components and assemblies
  • Ability to use hand tools
  • Ability to recognize and inform supervision of assembly problems and equipment breakdown
  • Good manual dexterity to assemble small and intricate parts
