Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc. in Kyle, TX is seeking an Assembler II to fabricate component parts and assemble finished products per customer specifications.

You will set up the work area, fit parts, operate presses and hand tools, inspect quality, and maintain a clean, safe workspace while complying with safety and TPM procedures. Training provided, opportunities for growth within a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Minimum 6 months of assembling components experience; 1 year preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Working knowledge of basic math preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble component parts according to specifications.
• Set up work area and ensure quality standards.
• Operate presses, machines and hand tools as required.
• Label, band, and stack finished products per procedures.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Complete pre-shift equipment inspections and TPM paperwork.
• Record production data and participate in safety and continuous improvement meetings.

Job SummaryAssembler II is responsible for fabricating component parts or assembling the finished product according to the customer's specifications. Secures and maintains correct component parts and supplies required for the operation including plates, nails, staples, fasteners, etc.Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesCompletes work area setupFits parts together in accordance with the prescribed manner and in accordance with quality standardsOperates presses and machinery in addition to hand tools as required to complete the assembly processStacks completed products in accordance with established procedures, and if required, may cover, label and band components/finished productEnsures work area is safe, clean and organized, and that equipment is safe to operate.Completes pre-shift/startup equipment inspection checklist and reports any problems or concernsMaintains a clean and orderly work environmentProvides basic TPM to equipment and completes TPM paperwork when requiredMaintains production records as requiredChecks materials and finished products to ensure compliance with standardsPerforms duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and standardsParticipates in safety, CI, and other programs and meetingsPerforms other duties as assignedQualificationsHigh school diploma/GED preferred but not requiredA minimum of 6 months of experience assembling components or specialty products is required; 1 year of experience or more is preferredWorking knowledge of basic math preferredMust be at least 18 years of ageClick here to watch what a day in the life of an Assembler looks like.The Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
