Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc. in Florida is seeking a general laborer to safely handle lumber products and verify materials meet customer requirements and company expectations.

You will move and secure lumber, label by type/size/count, apply tags, operate staple guns, and help keep the work area organized. Prior manufacturing or lumber experience is preferred, but not required, and 18+ age is required. This is an on-site position with equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Manufacturing or lumber experience preferred.
• Basic math skills helpful.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Moves and secures lumber products and other materials according to instructions.
• Stacks finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements.
• Labels material based on specifications: type, size, and count.
• Applies individual tags to material before/after treating/production.
• Uses a staple gun and troubleshoots equipment.
• Binds, bundles and secures material, including corner protectors and loading sticks.
• Follows stacking instructions per policy and customer requirements.
• Ensures correct quantities and material are strapped and labelled before leaving the area.
• Maintains accurate inventory of tags and reports discrepancies to supervisor.
• Records production on production sheets.
• Maintains a clean and organized work area.
• Assists with other areas by moving material and loading/unloading carts.
• Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
• Performs other duties as required.

• Stacks finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements
• Labels material based on the following specifications: type, size, and count
• Applies individual tags to material before/after treating/production
• Uses a staple gun and troubleshoots equipment
• Bands, bundles and secures material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticks
• Follows instructions for stacking material properly and according to company policy and customer requirements
• Ensures correct quantities and material are strapped, and labeled before leaving the work area
• Maintains accurate inventory of tags and reports any problems or discrepancies to supervisor
• Records production on production sheets
• Maintains a clean and organized work area
• Assists with other work areas by moving material, loading and unloading material carts
• Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings
• Performs other duties as required

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED preferred but not required
• No minimum experience is required, but manufacturing or lumber experience is preferred
• Working knowledge of basic math preferred
• Must be at least 18 years of age
