Purpose
The Home Building Team Member – Assembler I is an entry‑level position that performs the manufacturing production operations assigned to each department in the home building process. The position follows standard production methods and safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.
Positions include
- Frame, layout and build floors
- Prepare, layout and build walls
- Layout, run and install electrical lines, switches, receptacles and panels/breaker boxes
- Install and prepare drywall for finish tape, mud and texture
- Complete roof construction, decking, flashing and shingling
- Cabinet and or finish carpentry and trim, build and installation
- Installation of siding, windows and doors
- Painting of interior and exterior of homes
- Cooperate and promote a team concept with all other company employees
- Adhere to all rules and regulations at all times
- Meet or exceed company safety standards
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Practice safe work habits to ensure production is efficient and safe while observing all relevant OSHA regulations.
- Work in a team environment to produce products that conform to quality standards while achieving productivity objectives.
- Serve as a good steward of company physical assets, protecting them from damage and misuse, reporting needed maintenance, and keeping assigned areas clean and orderly.
- Assist Supervisors and Forepersons in planning and organizing manufacturing activities by communicating anticipated material shortages, tool maintenance needs, and any quality or productivity issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Construction or Warehouse Experience a plus, but not required
- Versatility and willingness to transfer into various departments when necessary
- Ability to read architectural and engineering drawings greatly desired
- Skilled in the operation and control of hand tools (tape measure, hammer, utility knife, etc.)
- Flexible to work in a fast‑paced, changing environment
- Must be 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must be able to pass a pre‑employment drug screen
Competencies
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and write simple correspondence; verbal expression ability to effectively present information, in both individual and small group situations.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide; ability to read tape measure.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions; ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Overtime work is involved.
Work Environment / Physical Activity
- Continuously required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
- Continuously required to walk.
- Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Continuously lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Continuously exposed to moving mechanical parts and airborne particles.
- Frequently exposed to outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock and vibration.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
- Will be required to wear ear plugs for noise protection as well as eye protection and other personal protective equipment required by the location.
