Job summary

G&W Electric seeks anAssembler I to perform sub-assembly and assembly tasks of basic complexity in a manufacturing setting in Illinois. You will study instructions, read blueprints, gather parts, and assemble components while ensuring correct fit and durable connections.

The role includes assisting with prototypes and maintaining a safe work environment. Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or GED, 0–1 year manufacturing experience, and the ability to read English instructions.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or combination of work experience and skill development.
• Ideally 0–1 year experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Able to safely use small hand and power tools.
• Able to read and interpret Drawings and Bills of Materials.
• Has basic computer skills.
• Able to read instructions and understand verbal instructions in English.

Responsibilities

• Study assembly instructions, blueprints and parts lists to prepare work.
• Position parts by reading measurements or using templates.
• Assemble components and verify correct fit and connections.
• Assist in prototypes or basic assembly projects as needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment and conserve resources.
• Train others in basic assembly tasks when needed.

Assembler I

In this job you will perform a variety of sub-assembly and/or assembly operations of basic complexity.

As an Assembler I you will:

• Prepare work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials
• Position parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements
• Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies
• Assist in the building of prototypes and/or other basic assembly projects outside of normal production as needed
• Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
• Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
• Contribute to team effort by training others in performance of basic assembly tasks as needed
• Inspect all work and ensure it meets requirements prior to passing it on to the next operation
• Document actions by completing production and quality forms

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a High School diploma, GED or combination of work experience and skill development
• Ideally has 0-1 year experience working in a manufacturing environment

Pay Range is $22.50 to $23.75 per hour
