Job summary

Pelican Products, Inc. is seeking an Assembler I in South Deerfield, MA to assemble, inspect, and pack protective cases using hand tools and fixtures. You will rotate through tasks, follow SOPs, and ensure quality and traceability of parts.

The role requires standing, dexterity, and adherence to safety rules in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Cross-training across different assembly tasks to cover manufacturing needs.
• Ability to safely operate hand and power tools used on the line.
• Capable of following verbal or written work instructions and SOPs.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to stand throughout the shift and perform repetitive tasks.
• Demonstrates manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• Commitment to safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assembles parts according to SOPs and documents required information.
• Inspects parts visually and during the process for quality compliance.
• Packages products with labels ensuring traceability to customer requirements.
• Performs re-inspection, re-work, sorting and cleaning of parts as needed.
• Rotates through different tasks on the assembly line.
• Operates auxiliary equipment like drilling and pin installation fixtures.
• Keeps work area clean and organized, returns tools to storage.
• Maintains safety and adheres to on-site procedures.

What You'll Do

The Assembleruses a variety of hand tools, fixtures, and work instruction to accurately assemble, inspect and pack small, medium, and large injection molded protective cases.

• Assembles parts according to verbal and SOP work instructions and documents required information.
• Performs visual and in-process inspections of parts during the manufacturing process to ensure quality requirements are met; able to determine acceptable and unacceptable parts.
• Packs completed product into boxes with customized labels to ensure identification and traceability to customer requirements.
• Performs re-inspection, re-work, sorting and cleaning of plastic parts, as requested.
• Rotates through different tasks on the assembly line.
• Operates auxiliary equipment such as drilling fixtures and pin installation fixtures.
• Keeps work area clean and organized.
• Returns all equipment to storage designated area upon work completion.
• Work Schedule: Sunday - Thursday - 10:00pm - 6:15am EST

• Willing to be cross trained in different tasks
• Must rotate throughout Manufacturing Cases and Component Molding
• Knowledge of and ability to use a variety of hand and power tool
• Ability to follow verbal and/or written instructions.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to stand for an entire shift and have manual dexterity
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks and follow manufacturing procedures
• Ability to work with a safety-first culture and adhere to all safety requirements at all times
