Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc is seeking an Assembler I to fabricate component parts or assemble finished products according to customer specifications. The role includes setting up the work area, aligning parts, using hand tools, and ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

Ideal candidates possess a high school diploma or GED (not required), with a preference for those having up to 6 months of manufacturing experience and basic math skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• 6 months manufacturing and assembling experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic math preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Complete work area setup.
• Assemble components according to instructions and quality standards.
• Operate hand tools as required to complete the assembly process.
• Stack completed products per procedures and, if required, cover, label, and band components finished product.
• Ensure work area is safe, clean and organized, and that equipment is safe to operate.
• Complete pre-shift startup equipment inspection checklist and report problems or concerns.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
• Maintain production records as required.
• Check materials and finished products to ensure compliance with standards.
• Follow safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards.
• Participate in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

• Completes work area setup
• Fits parts together in accordance with prescribed instructions and in accordance with quality standards
• Operates hand tools as required to complete the assembly process
• Stacks completed products in accordance with established procedures, and if required, may cover, label, and band components finished product
• Ensures work area is safe, clean and organized, and that equipment is safe to operate
• Completes pre-shift startup equipment inspection checklist and reports any problems or concerns
• Maintains a clean and orderly work environment
• Maintains production records as required
• Checks materials and finished products to ensure they are compliant with standards
• Performs duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards
• Participates in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED preferred but not required
• No minimum experience is required however, 6 months of manufacturing and assembling experience is preferred
• Working knowledge of basic math preferred
• Must be at least 18 years of age
