Job summary

Dover Corporation in South Chesterfield, VA is seeking an Assembler I to join a production team focused on manufacturing and assembling high quality Glass, Doors, Frames and Subcomponents.

You will assemble components, inspect parts, perform end-of-line checks, and collaborate with leads and supervisors to ensure products meet specifications. The role requires basic reading/writing, good communication, 6S understanding, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1-2 years of production assembly work.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Able to stand, walk and sit for long periods.
• Good communication skills.
• Understanding of 6S.

Responsibilities

• Assemble or produce component parts into completed subassemblies, assemblies or units per instructions.
• Inspect parts or completed units using visual inspection, gauges, tape measures, check fixtures, calipers, or other equipment.
• Perform end of line product checks and/or repairs.
• Notify or communicate with assemblers, leads, and supervisors of upstream changes to ensure products meet specifications.
• Assist assembly groups with problem solving.
• Make recommendations for in-line and subsequent checks to increase first pass yield.

We are looking for an Assembler I who will be responsible for working cooperatively as part of a production team to manufacture and assemble high quality Glass, Doors, Frames and Subcomponents.

What You'll Be Responsible For In This Role

• Responsible for the assembly or production of component parts into completed subassemblies, assemblies or completed units adhering to the assembly traveler/standard work instructions.
• Inspects parts or completed units by using visual inspection, gages, tape measures, check fixtures, calipers, or other inspection equipment.
• Perform end of line product checks and/or repairs
• Notifies / communicates with assemblers, leads, and supervisors or upstream changes to ensure products are to specification.
• Assist assembly groups with problem solving
• Makes recommendations for in-line and subsequent checks to increase first pass yield

What are the basic qualifications?

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• 1 -2 years of production assembly work
