  • Assemble components according to blueprints, routers, work orders, checklists, and specifications to build, assemble, and test parts and finished goods that meet quality standards in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Accurately complete assembly checklists.
  • Monitor stock bins in the work area and report stock needs to the Shop Floor Lead(s).
  • Ensure a safe and healthy work environment by following company standards and procedures.
  • Adhere to the Wabtec Code of Conduct.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Description

Job Title: Assembler/Grinder

Shift: (06:00 AM - 04:30 PM [Lunch: 11:00 AM - 11:30 AM])

As a member of the McPherson-based team, you will be responsible for the general assembly of components in accordance with product specifications, engineering drawings, work orders, and quality procedures. You will be cross trained in a variety of tasks, including grinding, completing assembly checklists, testing parts, and monitoring stock bins. Your training will also include the use of a variety of hand and pneumatic tools. You will report directly to the Production Supervisor, as well as the Plant Manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires daily face-to-face interaction and communication with employees on production line and management.
Work Environment:

  • The employee will normally work on the production shop floor that does not have controlled temperatures and will vary based on weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes and minimal to moderate noise.

The typical working hours for this role are 6:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Thursday. Overtime hours may be available or even required according to business needs and within the parameters of any applicable federal/state laws
