Job summary

Brunswick Corporation on Merritt Island, FL, is seeking an Assembler/Fitter/Installer to join a large yacht manufacturing facility. You will perform a range of installation tasks from electrical bilge to deck, dash, finish, cabinets, floors, and cockpits to support final finishes and cosmetics on premium boats.

The role requires 2–3 years of boat building plus fitting/installing experience; high school diploma or GED; ability to lift heavy objects and read production prints.

BASIC ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT

The Assembler/ Fitter/ Installer will perform a wide variety of tasks in a large yacht manufacturing facility. Assembly tasks performed may include gunking, glassing, assembling, fitting and installing.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for installing Electrical Bilge, Deck, Dash, Finish, cabinets, floors, cockpits, benches, and any other installation tasks as assigned.
  • Install the front of the line interior work with emphasis on the final finish elements and cosmetic aspects of the boat.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or GED
  • 2- 3 years of boat building experience preferred
  • Fitting / Installing experience
  • Working knowledge of hand tools
  • Ability to lift heavy objects
  • Ability to Multi-Task
  • Ability to read and understand prints and production schedules
  • Ability to work with suspended loads and heavy lifting
Additional Requirements
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must be able to adapt to changing requirements in a positive and proactive way.
  • Ability to interact professionally and effectively with all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to work in a dusty and hot environment.
  • Knowledge of hazardous chemical handling and disposal.
  • Must be flexible to work extended hours to support the requirements of the business.
Safety Requirements
  • Must possess the desire and ambition to work safely at all times and report all hazards to their Supervisor immediately
  • Must understand basic terminology such as OSHA, DEP, and other regulatory agencies
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment where designated, including but not limited to: safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, etc.
  • Must be able to understand and complete the OSHA questionnaire, pass spirometer test and physically wear a respirator where required
  • Must be able to physically handle the requirements of the job, including lifting, bending, climbing stairs, spending working hours on your feet, etc.
  • Must be able to understand all safety related document and worksite rules and practices, equipment operating instructions, documented safety management systems, and health and safety requirements, including the General Safety Rules and Individual Safety Commitment.

The anticipated pay range for this position is $20.60 to $25.05, hourly. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.

At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.
