Job summary

SPX Technologies, a global provider of HVAC and Detection and Measurement solutions, seeks an Assembler B – Production Associate for Patterson-Kelley within its HVAC Heating division. The role focuses on product assembly, disassembly, repair and tube work in a manufacturing setting.

Working under supervision, you will ensure quality and safety while following SPX policies. The position requires readiness for occasional overtime and adherence to standard hours in a 7:00 AM–3:30 PM schedule,

Qualifications

  • Proficiency with hand tools and measurement? (in assembly contexts)
  • Must be able to read and follow assembly drawings
  • Able to work with minimal supervision and maintain quality standards

Responsibilities

  • Performs product assembly, disassembly, repair and hydro test operations.
  • Lays out and cuts gaskets, sets up tube bundles, expands tubes, cuts, racks, and anneals tubes
  • Lays out, cuts and bends tubes
  • Requires judgment in assembling, aligning, fitting, shimming and adjustment to meet requirements as shown on assembly drawings
  • Maintains inventory levels, checks work station bins, replenishes work carts and puts away parts into supermarket locations
  • Responsible for periodic check of work as necessary to ensure quality
  • Responsible for and performs preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
  • Must be qualified to work with minimum supervision

Job Summary

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. Under the direction of the Product Supervisor, Assembler B – Production Associate is generally responsible for the product assembly, disassembly, repair and cutting and bending of tubes under the Patterson-Kelley product lines. Assembler B will be expected to maintain quality and safety standards in accordance to SPX policies.

What You Can Expect In This Role (Job Responsibilities)
  • Technical Operations:

  • The ability to predictably and regularly attend work and to be punctual
  • Make sound decisions, exercise independent judgment and prioritize tasks
  • Demonstrate ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Dexterity and accuracy as needed to operate hand tools so products are built within specifications
Education & Certifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Working Environment
  • Workplace is onsite in manufacturing environment
  • Normal work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM Monday through Friday
  • Must be flexible to work occasional overtime as required
Physical Demands
  • Occasionally moves goods and materials up to 35 pounds
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, stand, hear; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (eyewear and footwear)
