Eaton is seeking an Assembler A for the 2nd shift at the Los Angeles facility. The role focuses on assembling mechanical assemblies and subassemblies for aerospace customers, with potential electrical work and soldering.

The position reports to the Production Supervisor/Manager in Skydrol and requires strong attention to detail and adherence to tooling and documentation. Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED and at least two years in aerospace, military, or manufacturing

Qualifications

  • Two (2) years in assembly within a manufacturing, aerospace, or military environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to push, pull and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Proficient use of common hand tools and precision measuring devices.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble routine and complex mechanical assemblies and subassemblies with proper tooling and documentation.
  • Interpret blueprints and instructions with minimal supervision.
  • Perform lock wire/safety wire, nameplate, and visual inspections for quality control.
  • Prepare materials and perform surface lapping as required.
  • Maintain clean, safe work area and adhere to safety rules.

Job description

Eaton's IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Assembler A- 2nd Shift at our Los Angeles facility! Core shift hours are between 1:45pm to 10:15pm Monday - Friday.

The hourly rate for this position is $26.70 + $2.00 Shift Premium per hour.

What you'll do:

Assemble routine mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and top assemblies of mild to most complex product line that includes but is not limited to commercial parts for customer such as Boeing, Embraer, Gulfstream, Cessna, and Airbus. May occasional work on electrical assemblies and solder.

Reports to the Production Supervisor/Manager in Skydrol.

In this function you will:
  • Assembly of mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and top assemblies. Ensure activities are performed correctly and proper tooling and documentation is used. Requires little to no supervision.
  • Perform lock wire/safety wire and nameplate.
  • Proactively identifies best practices.
  • Must have the ability to utilize hand tools such as, but not limited to, pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers, arbor press, vises, soldering iron, depth micrometers, calipers, lockwire pliers and dial indicators.
  • Proficiently interpret blueprints, verbal, and/or written instructions.
  • Perform cross training when required.
  • Material preparation including lapping of surfaces with proper tooling techniques and compounds.
  • Perform visual inspection, identify any defective items and handle according to established procedures.
  • Adhere to operational procedures and ensure tooling is in calibration before use.
  • Maintain clean and safe work area. Adhere to all safety rules and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned. May be temporarily reassigned to cover workload in other areas of production as necessary.
  • Overtime is required to meet business needs, and you may be required to work overtime as requested.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent from an accredited institution is required.
  • Two (2) years in assembly within a manufacturing, aerospace, or military environment.
  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within 50 miles of Los Angeles, CA facility will be considered for this position. Active Duty military are exempt from the geographical requirement
  • This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2 years prior assembly experience in Aerospace industry.
  • Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) certification.
  • Experience working in FAA environment.
