Job summary

Hendrickson in Somerset, KY is seeking a full-time assembler to build product per customer specifications using hand and pneumatic tools. You will understand parts like beams, air springs, axles, hubs, and locking devices, and organize the assembly flow while maintaining quality inspections.

The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work overtime when needed, and operate torque wrenches according to specs in a team environment.

Qualifications

• Prior production assembly experience, 1-2 yrs.
• Must have verifiable references.
• Ability to interpret production schedules and build specifications.
• Ability to work overtime, as production demands require.
• Must be able to utilize torque wrenches according to specs.

Responsibilities

• Use required hand and pneumatic tools to assemble product per Company and customer specifications.
• Understand parts such as beams, air springs, axles, hubs, and locking devices and their relationship to the end product.
• Organize all aspects of the assembly process.
• Quality inspections throughout the assembly process.
• Work in a team environment.
• Inspect equipment and parts for good working condition (air tools, torque wrenches, nuts and bolts).
• Lift sub-components to the line (up to 50 lbs).
• Use pneumatic tooling to assemble and torque products (90–310 ft-lbs).
• Function in Assembly Paint and Assembly Packaging areas as assigned.

Job Description

Position Purpose:

• Use required Hand and pneumatic tools to assemble product per Company and customer specifications.

Essential Functions:

• Understand associated parts, such as beams, air springs, axles, hubs, and locking devices and their relationship to the end product.
• Must be able to organize all aspects of the assembly process.
• Accountable for quality inspections throughout assembly process.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Continuous inspection of associated equipment and parts used in the assembly process to ensure good working condition. (air tools, torque wrenches, nuts and bolts…)
• Ability to lift sub-components to the line - Must be able to physically lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to use pneumatic tooling to assemble and torque products. Torques range from 90 to 310 ft. lbs.
• Ability to function in Assembly Paint area as assigned.
• Ability to function in the Assembly Packaging area as assigned.
• Must possess a high level of attention to detail.

Education and Training

• High School diploma or G.E.D. required.

Physical Demands

• Constant standing, forward bending, reaching, balancing, use of cervical spine motion, lower extremities, simple grasp, firm grasp, fine manipulation, and pinching.
• Frequent walking

• Lifting up to 80 lbs.
• Carrying 10-50 lbs. up to 25 feet.
• Push/Pull 10-50 force lbs.

Environmental Conditions

Ventilation: Adequate.

Temperature: Non-Temperature Controlled. Humidity, Heat, Cold are factors during the year.
