Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking an Assembler 3 to support production of electronic and mechanical assemblies at our Central Virginia manufacturing facilities. You will follow diagrams, use hand and power tools, and perform inspections to ensure quality.

The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Ideal candidates will have 4+ years in assembly/manufacturing, derivable from the listed qualifications, and must be able to

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED plus a minimum of 4 years of additional relevant experience in assembly, manufacturing or production.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance and program clearance.
  • Interim Secret clearance is required to start.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Ability to lift and move objects, up to 30lbs, from one location to another
  • The ability to walk, stand, sit, squat, kneel, twist, bend, and reach is required.
  • Use of both hands for repetitive wrist, hand, and finger motions is required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies such as modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables.
  • Work from diagrams and drawings, make initial layouts, and use hand and/or power tools, jigs, and saws.
  • Make continuity checks on work in process and completed.
  • May conduct quality inspections on processing line in accordance with quality specifications.
  • May disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions.
  • Must obtain/maintain workmanship certifications.

We are looking for you to join our team as an Assembler 3 to support production and manufacturing operations at our Central Virginia manufacturing facilities. A successful candidate will possess great communication and interpersonal abilities, excellent organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to troubleshoot and problem solve. They will also learn quickly and work well independently and as part of a team.

What You’ll Get To Do

This job requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance plus program clearance. A CURRENT CLEARANCE IS NOT REQUIRED TO APPLY TO AND INTERVIEW FOR THIS JOB. If you do accept an offer for this position we will start the clearance process immediately, and your start date will be confirmed once you are granted an Interim Secret clearance. The average time to obtain an Interim Secret clearance is about 30 days.

This position is contingent upon proposal/task award. The chosen candidate is projected to start around January 2027.

Basic Qualifications

  • Ability to read/understand blueprints/3D models

Primary Level Salary Range: $44,400.00 - $74,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
