Job summary

ThyssenKrupp Bilstein of America in Hamilton, OH is seeking an assembler to build suspension components to company specifications. This role emphasizes safety, quality, and teamwork on a busy production line.

You will read blueprints, operate and learn machines, perform inspections, and uphold housekeeping. Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED, reliable attendance, and willingness to work overtime as needed.

  • Demonstrated reliability, initiative, and quality focus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies.
  • Assembles component parts to company specifications and customer expectations, understanding the functional operation of items assembled and the finished product.
  • Inspects parts for proper assembly and cosmetic defects. Tags non-conforming parts and places them in the re-work area.
  • Ensures all parts are assembled per specification.
  • Maintains a clean workstation and production areas as required.
  • Sets up machines per work instructions and learns all machines in the work area.
  • Demonstrates willingness to move to other lines and cells to support company needs.
  • Follows safety guidelines and wears Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Communicates test results, ideas, and problems to production technicians and engineers.
  • Identifies discrepant materials/components and communicates with the supervisor.
  • Completes tasks as directed by production schedules within standard times.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by Line/Team Leads or management; ensures compliance with organization standards and policies.

  • Ability to manage time effectively and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, perform repetitious duties, and stand or walk for long periods.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and work instructions.
  • Demonstrated reliability, initiative, and quality focus.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to develop work processes to improve outcomes.
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED and ability to read, write, and speak English.
General Physical Requirements
  • Stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift).
  • Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 40 lbs.
  • Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, and crouching to assemble parts and operate machinery.
  • Repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements for handling small components.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for precise assembly.
  • Ability to grasp and manipulate small tools, fixtures, or materials.
Work Environment & Sensory Conditions
  • Moderate industrial noise and varying temperatures in a manufacturing setting.
  • Potential presence of dust, lubricants, or airborne particles.
  • Required to wear PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, and other gear as needed.
  • Visual inspection of parts to ensure quality standards are met.
