Generac, a leading power solutions company, is hiring for Assembly roles in Beaver Dam, Indiana. This is a 2nd shift position running Monday through Thursday from 3:00 PM to 1:30 AM.

Assembler I/II/III will build products, validate materials, follow work instructions, and maintain clean, safe work areas to meet quality standards. As you grow, you’ll help with problem solving, cross-train teammates, and support process improvements.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with manufacturing processes a plus
  • SAP or ERP experience is advantageous
  • Root cause problem solving experience is beneficial
  • Experience training other employees on work instructions/standard work

Responsibilities

  • Assemble product per work instructions and tolerances, ensuring quality and safety.
  • Validate material prior to assembly and maintain clean, organized work area.
  • Resolve problems with guidance from peers or supervisor as needed.
  • Cross-train in multiple assembly areas and adapt to business needs.
  • Provide training to new and existing employees on standard work and procedures.

Pay Rate:

Assembler I: $20.75/hour + $2.50/hour shift premium = $23.25/hour

Assembler II: $22.25/hour + $2.50/hour shift premium = $24.75/hour

JOB SUMMARY:

Assembler is responsible for performing assembly work to manufacture products in a cost effective and timely manner while fulfilling quality standards. The Assembler I/II/III will validate material prior to beginning assembly, review work instructions, build product per specifications and within tolerances, complete all clean-up and housekeeping procedures, comply with all quality, safety and work rules and regulations including wearing all appropriate PPE.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
ASSEMBLY I:
  • Ability to perform highly repetitive assembly tasks in a manufacturing environment.
ASSEMBLY II:
  • High school diploma or equivalent and/or 1 year of complex assembly or related experience
ASSEMBLY III:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of complex assembly or related experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
ASSEMBLY I:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Manufacturing experience, including knowledge of manufacturing processes or related experience
ASSEMBLY II:
  • Experience using SAP or equivalent ERP system
ASSEMBLY III
  • Experience in root cause problem solving (5 Why, 8D, PDCA, etc.)
  • Experience effectively training other employees to work instructions/standard work.
  • Previous experience using SAP or equivalent ERP system (Oracle, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Uses work instructions drawings, schematics, electronic assembly equipment to perform assembly while complying with safe and effective operation standards of all equipment and tools.
  • Resolves problems with assistance from peers or supervisor depending on the level and complexity.
ASSSEMBLY II/III
  • Suggest and implement improvements of existing equipment, designs, and/or processes to improve safety, quality, delivery and productivity.
  • Uses initiative and judgment to lead problem solving and implementing appropriate countermeasures.
  • Cross trains in multiple assembly areas and flex to other similar departments based on business necessity.
  • Provide training frequently to new employees and current employees learning new work areas on work instructions/standard work.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of the products they assemble and how it impacts the business.
  • Continuous learning of the principles, practices, and processes of their job as changes require and similar jobs.
