Job summary

KYOCERA AVX Greenville LLC in Erie, PA is seeking an Assembler for 1st shift to prepare and place electronic components, assemble products for military, aerospace, and medical industries, and ensure assemblies meet specifications.

You will work at an assembly station, read instructions, measure with tools, solder and de-solder components, and collaborate with engineers to maintain quality and throughput.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required
• IPC J-STD-001 Certification for “Requirements for Soldering Electrical and Electronic Assemblies” preferred
• Ability to read and comprehend work instructions
• Ability to complete basic mathematics problems and read measuring devices
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and other software applications

Assembler - 1st Shift

JOB TITLE: Assembler

LOCATION: Erie, PA

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Prepare and place electronic components within a variety of product assemblies, supporting customers in the military, aerospace, communications, and medical industries. Work at an assembly station within the manufacturing setting, collaborating with other assemblers and engineers to ensure that devices are assembled according to specifications. You will be required to conduct quality assurance procedures to determine that electronic devices and components are free of damage and correctly assembled.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work with production/assembly instructions, parts lists, drawings, and verbal instructions to assemble a wide assortment of products or components.
• Positions components manually, or via hand tools, in order to complete assigned tasks.
• Operate production machinery as needed.
• Solder/de-solder components in order to assemble final product.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED is required
• IPC J-STD-001 Certification for “Requirements for Soldering Electrical and Electronic Assemblies” preferred
• Ability to read and comprehend work instructions
• Ability to complete basic mathematics problems and know how to read measuring devices to perform required assembly tasks
• Basic computer skills, including the ability to work within a variety of Microsoft Office products and other computer software applications
