Job summary

Barnes Aerospace in East Granby, CT is seeking a skilled manufacturing specialist to join our precision-focused team. The role emphasizes reading and interpreting blueprints, performing bench work with tight tolerances, and ensuring parts meet exact specifications.

You'll work Monday through Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks under deadlines. A high school diploma is required, and we offer competitive wages and benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled bench work to bring parts with tight tolerances to specification by deburring, blending, sanding with hand tools and machinery.
  • Drill, rivet and assemble parts to close tolerance.
  • Use measuring devices to gauge specifications and address non-conformances with engineers and QA.
  • Interpret complex prints and process sheets to complete layouts and sign work orders.

Your Expertise:
  • 3+ years of manufacturing background, preferably in Aerospace.
  • Ability to read, interpret and understand blueprints, engineering drawings and documents and proficient with computer systems.
  • Ability to pay exceptional attention to detail and have the capacity to handle multiple tasks effectively under deadline pressures while following direction and completing assignments accurately and on time.
  • Interact and communicate in a professional and effective manner with all level employees.
  • Schedule and organize time and tasks effectively
  • Perform skilled bench work to bring complex parts with tight tolerance to customer specifications by deburring, blending, sanding with hand tools and machinery, and adjusting parts, as needed, prior to inspection.
  • Drill, rivet and assemble parts to close tolerance.
  • Utilize measuring devices to gauge and measure proper specifications and conformity of manufactured parts, as well as determine necessary steps to correct any non-conformance parts processed. Work with engineers, managers and quality personnel to resolve problems and ensure conformance parts.
  • Use and interpret complicated prints, drawings and process sheets to perform a variety of layouts, as well as complete and sign work orders identifying the operations performed
Education Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
