Job summary

Millenniumsoft, Inc. in Durham, NC is seeking an Assembler I to join our contract manufacturing team on 1st shift (6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., Mon-Fri). This entry-level role builds subassemblies and integrates mechanical and electrical components following SOPs and work instructions.

You will use hand tools, perform basic in-process inspections, and help maintain a clean, organized 5S work area while supporting continuous improvement efforts and timely production documentation.

Qualifications

  • 0–1 year of manufacturing or assembly experience preferred.
  • Able to read, interpret, and follow written instructions and assembly drawings.
  • Basic math skills and ability to perform simple calculations.
  • Reliability and ability to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble mechanical and electrical subassemblies using hand and power tools according to instructions and SOPs.
  • Integrate components into larger assemblies ensuring proper fit and alignment.
  • Follow detailed assembly drawings, diagrams, and written instructions.
  • Perform basic in-process inspections to verify quality and identify defects.
  • Support testing and basic troubleshooting of assemblies as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area per 5S standards.
  • Document production work accurately and communicate issues to Team Lead.

Work Schedule Hrs: 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

CANDIDATE MUST BE FLEXIBLE TO WORK OVERTIME HOURS IF REQUESTED BY THE MANAGER DUE TO BUSINESS NEEDS.

Candidate must have reliable transportation and mechanical aptitude.

JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Assembler I is responsible for performing a variety of entry-level assembly tasks, including building subassemblies and integrating mechanical and electrical components into finished products.
  • This role uses hand tools and follows standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and quality standards to meet production requirements.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble mechanical and electrical subassemblies using hand and power tools in accordance with work instructions and SOPs
  • Integrate components into larger assemblies, ensuring proper fit, alignment, and functionality
  • Follow detailed assembly drawings, diagrams, and written instructions
  • Perform basic in-process inspections to verify quality and identify defects
  • Support testing and basic troubleshooting of assemblies as needed
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S standards
  • Accurately complete production documentation and track work performed
  • Communicate issues, material shortages, or defects to Team Lead or Supervisor in a timely manner
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts and support team-based problem solving
  • Rotate between workstations and tasks based on production needs
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 0–1 year of manufacturing or assembly experience preferred
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools
