Job summary

Wabtec Corporation in Duquesne, PA is seeking an Assembler 1 to join the Thermal Transfer group. You will follow work instructions and engineering drawings to assemble and test a wide variety of products, ensuring quality and production standards while prioritizing safety.

You will work with assemblers, operators, and welders, receive components, review supplier parts for drawings, and participate in continuous improvement and inventory activities.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic computer/data entry skills expected.
• Ability to read drawings, BOMs and procedures.
• Must operate hand tools such as torque wrenches, hammers, presses.
• Ability to read measuring devices (gages, timers).
• Experience with hydraulic presses and inspection tools.
• Will accept feedback and improve processes accordingly.
• Prior shipping/receiving in manufacturing preferred.
• Experience assembling components in manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Follow instructions to assemble, test, and package products for shipment.
• Receive and verify incoming components into inventory.
• Review supplier components for drawings and checklists.
• Identify and quarantine non-conforming parts.
• Operate forklifts, cranes, and related systems; train as needed.
• Maintain time and job records as directed by supervisor.
• Package finished goods and use shipping/label software.
• Participate in inventory cycle counts.
• Maintain safe, clean work environment per standards.
• Adhere to Code of Conduct and 5S housekeeping.
• Participate in team meetings and continuous improvement activities.
• Communicate with internal personnel and drivers as needed.
