Job summary

BD is seeking an Assembler 1 at our El Paso, TX facility to support the safe production of pharmaceutical ingredients and medical devices. Under supervision, you will learn to operate manufacturing equipment and follow GMP and SOPs to ensure quality and compliance.

You will assist in transporting materials, maintaining clean and safe work areas, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Overtime may be required to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• 4 months of work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Able to read, write, and understand Basic English preferred.
• Operating skills of manufacturing equipment, tools, and hand/pallet jack is preferred.
• Problem solving skills is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Possess a basic understanding of production processes and equipment operation.
• Follow GMP, SOPs, and quality procedures.
• Transport materials safely using material handling equipment.
• Maintain safety, housekeeping and environmental standards; wear PPE.
• Available for overtime as needed and be adaptable to shift needs.
• Support continuous improvement and identify opportunities to simplify processes.

Position Summary

Under direct supervision, the Assembler 1 is trained to perform duties related to the preparation and manufacture of active pharmaceutical ingredients, intermediates, and/or medical devices in accordance with standard operating procedures, as regulated by quality, environmental, and safety agencies (FDA, OSHA, etc.).

Responsibilities:

• Possess a basic understanding of production processes within area of assignment and a working knowledge of manufacturing equipment.
• Follow GMP, s and standard operating procedures.
• Transport materials of varying weight in accordance with established safety guidelines using material handling equipment and additional assistance as required.
• Demonstrates adherence to safety procedures by monitoring personal and peer behaviors, work environment and housekeeping.
• Available for overtime as needed
• Performs all duties with attention to quality, safety, and environmental matter such as wearing appropriate personal protective equipment, identifying, reporting, and appropriately responding to hazards in the work area (spills/accidents/near misses), always maintaining proper housekeeping, and properly labeling and storing chemicals.
• Assume responsibility for the environmental effects of work performed and for the identification and recording of environmental problems as they arise. Complete all regulatory training as assigned (GPM, s, ISO14001, OSHA, etc.).
• Complete Operator Training Program according to established guidelines.
• Be available for other projects or assignments as requested by management.
