Job summary

Haworth, a global leader in office furniture, is seeking an Assembler 1 to join our Ludington team. You will assemble products, install hardware, and prepare kits, using hand and power tools to meet quality standards.

You’ll rotate through assembly stations, review pick lists, and perform final inspections. The role offers overtime opportunities and engagement with a supportive, growth‑oriented environment from day one.

Qualifications

• On-the-job training (OJT) may be provided for new team members.
• Reading and following basic blueprints is advantageous.

Job Overview

We are currently looking for anAssembler 1 to join our team in Ludington.

Assembles products, installs hardware, and/or compiles parts kits. Utilizes various tools to complete job requirements.

Essential Functions

• Accesses electronic production systems to determine daily schedule.
• Accesses pick lists, picks all needed components. Verifies that parts received match pick tickets.
• Inspects incoming components, parts and/or previous station's assembly work, and completed product, to ensure proper fit and function of all components. Corrects or replaces unacceptable parts.
• May sub-assemble components using hand and power tools in preparation for final assembly or for customer packet/kit.
• Performs final visual and quality inspection of product/parts.
• Prepares and may package components for next manufacturing process or for shipment to customer.
• Enters order data into electronic production system, creates labels, and stages product for next operation.
• Escalates & documents production nonconformance issues.
• Rotates through department work centers based on business need.
• Works overtime as needed.
• Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

WORK REQUIREMENTS

• New team members may be placed in this job and receive OJT.

ENVIRONMENTAL/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Large machinery and equipment used in work areas. Possibility of cuts, scrapes or bruises.
• Moderate exposure to dust, noise, solvent, heat, paint, and lubricants. May also be exposed to glue, solvent, heat, paint, fiberglass, and denatured alcohol.
• Constant mental and visual alertness required to avoid potential serious injury to self and others in all work groups.
• Eye protection required; hearing protection may be required.
• Moves and may lift materials and/or products weighing up to 50 pounds, occasionally more (assistance given with heavier objects).
• Walks, bends, twists, turns, reaches and lifts while performing functions of position.
• Standing required for extended periods.
• Work requires regular repetitive arm and hand movement.
• May be required to climb stairs and ladders.

Ideally, you have also demonstrated the following:

• Ability to use basic hand, air, cordless, and/or electric tools.
• Ability to utilize appropriate electronic production system and maintenance management system to complete job duties, along with the respective technology tools, e.g. personal computer (PC), tablet, keyboard, mouse, RF gun.
• Ability to or ability to learn to read and follow basic blueprints.
