Job summary

Great Plains Manufacturing, Inc. in Salina, KS is hiring for a 1st Shift Assembler (Mon–Thu, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.), with overtime on Fridays as required. You will follow daily build schedules, assemble prototypes, and fasten parts by hand or with hand tools and portable power tools.

Read engineering prints, measure with a tape, tend machines, and work at different stations as production needs vary. Embrace Lean Manufacturing practices and maintain safe, quality-focused output.

Qualifications

• Detail oriented and able to stay on task in a fast-paced environment.
• Capable of using hand and power tools and reading engineering prints.
• Forklift license or ability to obtain one.
• Lean manufacturing mindset and willingness to implement changes.

Responsibilities

• Follow and complete daily build schedule.
• Assemble prototypes.
• Bolt, clip, screw, cement, or otherwise fasten parts together by hand, or using hand tools or portable power tools.
• Read and interpret engineering prints and use a tape measure as required.
• Tend machines and use tools, such as impact wrenches, to perform fastening operations on the assembly line.
• Work at different work stations as production needs require.
• Work on line where tasks vary as different model moves along line or at a fixed assembly station.
• Monitor assembly tasks and recommend quality improvement initiatives to the assembly/shipping manager.

Assembler – 1 st Shift – Salina, KS

Great Plains Mfg is seeking a 1 st Shift Assembler for our new Construction Equipment (CE) facility in Salina, KS. This position works Monday through Thursday, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with overtime on Fridays as required.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Follow and complete daily build schedule
• Assemble prototypes
• Bolt, clip, screw, cement, or otherwise fasten parts together by hand, or using hand tools or portable power tools.
• Read and interpret engineering prints and use a tape measure as required.
• Tend machines and use tools, such as impact wrenches, to perform force fitting or fastening operations on assembly line.
• Work at different work stations as production needs require.
• Work on line where tasks vary as different model of same article moves along line or at a fixed assembly station.
• Monitor assembly tasks and recommend quality improvement initiatives to the assembly/shipping manager.
• Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment.
