Job summary

Dover Precision Components is seeking an onsite assembler in Rosenberg, TX. You will assemble mechanical and electronic components using a variety of tools, follow NCM and 6S practices, and work to meet daily production goals with safety and quality in mind.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 1–3 years of light manufacturing experience, and fluency in English. Occasional overtime may be required; PPE is provided and safety is a priority.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • 1–3 years in light general manufacturing assembly.
  • Experience with assembling mechanical and electrical components.
  • Familiar with 5S and general safety requirements.
  • Able to read manufacturing work instructions with minimal assistance.
  • Proven track record of meeting production goals without sacrificing quality.

Responsibilities

  • Operate required machinery and tools including hand tools and small cranes.
  • Assemble mechanical and electronic components and kits.
  • Follow NCM processes for tagging and placement of materials.
  • Meet daily production goals according to the schedule.
  • Read policies, procedures and work/test instructions for assigned stations.
  • Report safety, quality, or delivery issues promptly.
  • Maintain 6S cleanliness and organization at the station.
  • Be punctual and prepared for shifts, breaks, and transitions.

Responsibilities

  • Operate required machinery and equipment; including, but not limited to electric hand tools, manual hand tools, small overhead cranes, pallet jacks, electric hand jacks, etc.
  • Assemble mechanical & electronic assemblies and kits using a variety of tools and equipment
  • Follow the Non-Conforming Material (NCM) process, ensuring NCM material is properly red-tagged and placed in the appropriate location
  • Work with team to meet daily production goals while following a manufacturing schedule
  • Read and understand all policies, procedures, work instructions and test instructions associated with assigned station(s)
  • Report issues that may jeopardize employee safety, product quality, and/or on-time delivery
  • Adhere to the 6S program, (5S + Safety) keep your station(s) and work area clean, well-organized, and free of any safety hazards
  • Be on time, at your station, & ready-to-work at the beginning of your shift, after lunch, and break times

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred
  • Able to read, write, and speak English fluently
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in light general manufacturing assembly
  • Experience with using a variety of tools for the assembly of mechanical and electrical components
  • Familiar with 5S and general safety requirements
  • Ability to read and understand manufacturing work instructions with minimal assistance
  • Proven track record of meeting production goals without sacrificing quality
  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as work orders demand
  • This position may require employee to bend, push, and pull product; use hand tools and solvents and/or lubricants; and, lift boxes/parts up to 40lbs. This position requires standing for eight hours per day; use of PPE equipment
