Job summary

ABB is seeking an assembly technician to support on-site production. You will assemble semi-finished or final products, read technical diagrams, and conduct quality testing as part of defined processes.

You will use basic hand tools, stand for long periods, and follow SOPs to maintain a clean, safe workspace. US work authorization is required.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to read and understand technical manuals and schematics.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive work.
  • Experience in manufacturing preferred.
  • Willingness to operate in an onsite factory setting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assembly work to produce semi-finished or final products.
  • Read and interpret technical diagrams/instructions.
  • Carry out regular quality testing as part of the production process.
  • Maintain a clean work area and follow standard operating procedures.
  • Pack products integrated with production lines when required.

Each day, you will use machinery and equipment on the shop floor. You will also showcase your expertise by reading and interpreting the technical diagrams/instructions for assembly of products/systems/panels.The work model for the role is: onsiteYou will be mainly accountable for:Conducting all types of assembly work to produce semi-finished or final products/systems/panels, including the packing where integrated with production lines.Performing work manually or by using light hand tools.Carrying out regular quality testing as part of a defined production process.Operating within standard operating procedures and maintaining a clean work area.Qualifications for the role (Mandatory)High School Diploma or GEDBe able to use the basic hardware tools (screw drivers, spanners, measuring tape, crimpers, cutters, etc.)Preferably experience in manufacturing jobs.Must be able to stand for long periods and perform repetitive work.Must be able to understand technical manuals and schematics for a wide range of products and machines to properly manufacture the final product.Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.More about usABB Smart Power provides energy distribution solutions for data centers, industrial and manufacturing plants, critical infrastructure and commercial buildings.
