Job summary

Baker Hughes is hiring an Assembler to manufacture standardized components in a safe, cost-efficient manner. You will follow established procedures to meet quality and delivery targets, read blueprints, perform layouts, and operate various tools and robotic systems.

The role requires attention to detail, basic math, and the ability to work with ERP systems, with shift timing of 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM and potential overtime as needed.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and work orders.
  • Perform layouts and material preparation for manufacturing.
  • Operate tools and equipment (presses, nibblers, cutters, cobots).
  • Form, cut, trim, deburr, assemble, and mark parts as required.
  • Inspect parts with calipers, gauges, micrometers; document data.
  • Meet productivity and quality standards; operate forklifts as needed.
  • Follow safety, quality, and operational procedures.

As an Assembler, you will play a key role in manufacturing standardized component parts in a safe and cost-effective manner. You will follow established company policies and manufacturing procedures to produce high-quality components that meet operational and customer requirements.

Your work will directly contribute to ensuring our customers receive reliable products with the highest quality and timely delivery. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work with a variety of tools, equipment, and production processes.

As an Assembler, you will be responsible for:
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and work orders to guide production activities.

  • Performing layouts and preparing materials for manufacturing processes.

  • Operating tools and equipment such as presses, punches, nibblers, cutters, co-bots, and other robotic and automation systems.

  • Forming, cutting, trimming, filing, grinding, buffing, deburring, spot welding, assembling, and marking parts as required.

  • Producing stock components including vacuum supports, tops, liners, and other related parts.

  • Cutting discs and rings using appropriate tools and machinery.

  • Inspecting parts using precision measuring equipment such as calipers, gauges, dial indicators, and micrometers to ensure conformance to specifications.

  • Recording inspection data and maintaining quality documentation where required.

  • Meeting company productivity and quality standards consistently.

  • Operating forklifts as needed to support production and material handling.

  • Following all safety, quality, and operational procedures.

  • Supporting additional tasks and responsibilities based on workload and business requirements.

To be successful in this role you will:
  • Have a high school diploma or GED.

  • Have 1–3 months of experience in a production or manufacturing environment (experience in a similar internal role preferred).

  • Demonstrate the ability to read and interpret blueprints.

  • Possess basic math and reading skills.

  • Have basic computer skills sufficient to use company ERP systems.

  • Demonstrate working knowledge of industrial manufacturing equipment.

  • Show strong attention to detail with a focus on quality, accuracy, and safety.

  • Be able to follow established manufacturing procedures and company policies.

  • Demonstrate effective time management and ability to stay on task to meet deadlines.

  • Exhibit a positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders.

Physical Requirements
  • Sufficient motor skills to safely operate tools and manufacturing equipment.

  • Ability to stand and/or walk for the majority of the shift (typically 8–10 hours or more).

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as required.

  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses and safety shoes.

  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, including alternate shifts and weekends, based on business needs.
