Description

Position involves performing repetitive assembly operations on fabricated pieces, assembling sub or final assemblies by trimming, bending, and using hand tools, ensuring proper fit, snapping and fastening components. Works from supervisor demonstration or approved samples.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform repetitive assembly operations, adjust pieces by trimming, bending, ensuring proper fit; snap parts and fasten with hardware.
• Use hand tools such as screwdriver, hammer, pliers, wrenches, and riveting machines.
• Move skids of pieces with hand trucks between work area and finished product containers.
• Remove skids or containers from assembly benches.
• Read route sheets, verify quantities, record start and finish times, indicate operations on tickets, and record time changes.
• Follow prescribed safety practices.

Education and Experience

High School diploma or GED preferred.

Skills

Read, write in English, perform basic math. Work from orders, route cards, bills of lading, and packing slips. Accurate recording of quantities, time, and operations required.

Reasoning Ability

Use common sense to carry out written and oral instructions; handle problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations; follow instructions to interpret records.

Physical Demands

• Stand, walk, crouch, bend, push, pull, and use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls.
• Talk or hear frequently.
• Lift 50+ lbs and pull or push equivalent weights.
• Normal mental and visual attention required.

Work Environment

• Exposure to noise, dust, dirt, grease, water, paint, oil, fumes, seasonal heat and cold.

PPE Requirements

Safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, gloves, and arm guards as required.
