Job summary

Wabash is seeking Assemblers in the United States for positions on the production floor. Responsibilities include installing subassemblies, operating rivet punchers, and applying decals while following blueprints and safety guidelines.

Ideal candidates will pass a pre-employment drug screen and have basic reading, writing, and verbal skills. Training is provided to prepare you for production duties on the shop floor.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Own and help improve safety, quality, and delivery performance.
• Keep work area free of hazards.
• Measure and cut material as needed.
• Install truck bed flooring and decals per templates.
• Follow blueprints and templates to install signs and reflectors, etc.
• Operate tools and equipment safely and correctly.
• Wear PPE and adhere to safety policies.

Job description

Assemblers perform various tasks here a Wabash that vary from location to location. We have Assemblers that are responsible for anything from installing and assembling subassemblies and component parts to operating rivet punchers to installing decals and much more in between

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Own and help improve are Safety, Quality, and Delivery, performance
• Keeping their work area free of any potential work hazards
• Measuring and cutting material
• Installing truck bed flooring
• Following decal templates/ blueprints
• Install signs, reflectors, fenders, mud flaps and other associated parts
• Performs additional work as assigned by the Supervisor or Team leader. This may require the employee to flex into another department
• Wear approved personal protective equipment such as safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses with side shields, respirators, hearing protection, etc.
• Complete assigned duties in accordance with safety policies and practices. This includes regard to individual safety, the safety of co-workers and the safe use of equipment in the workplace.

Experience and education are great to come into this position with. However, it’s not required, here at Wabash, we give you the training to become comfortable in any Assembler position. Upon receiving an offer letter from us, you’ll undergo orientation and several days of training, preparing you for the production floor.

Physical Demands

As an Assembler, you are regularly required to stand, walk, lean, push, climb, sit, bend, kneel, stoop, handle and operate tools or controls for the length of their entire shift. The employee needs full range of motion in their arms and hands in this position. All Assemblers must be able to successfully communicate with fellow employees as well. Some Assemblers also work in small spaces throughout their shift and frequently lift and/or carry objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus, along with good hand-eye coordination.
