Job summary

Hair Bar NYC in New York is seeking a motivated Junior Stylist to learn and grow with our luxury salon team. You will assist senior stylists, perform blowouts and color applications, and gain hands-on experience through in-house education and guidance from senior stylists.

If you are newly licensed or have some salon experience, you will contribute to client consultations, product recommendations, and maintaining a welcoming, organized work environment while advancing your craft.

Qualifications

• Active NYC cosmetology license.
• Newly licensed stylists welcome; previous salon experience is a plus.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• A passion for hair, education, and professional growth.
• Keratin experience is helpful, but training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior stylists while developing your technical skills and confidence.
• Perform blowouts, styling, color applications, and treatments appropriate to your experience and training.
• Learn Hair Bar NYC's signature keratin treatments, exclusive product line, and service standards.
• Conduct thoughtful consultations, seeking guidance from senior team members when needed.
• Help guests feel welcomed, comfortable, and informed throughout their visit.
• Recommend products, treatments, and service upgrades that meet each guest's hair needs.
• Maintain accurate client records, formulas, and service notes.
• Keep workstations, tools, and shared spaces clean, organized, and ready for service.
• Participate in ongoing training and apply feedback to improve your work.
• Support front desk operations as needed.
