Job summary

Ulta Beauty is seeking an Assistant Stylist in Sarasota, FL for a temporary role that trains you for a full stylist position. You will engage guests, consult on hair care needs, and recommend products and services.

Initially mentored for 3 months, you’ll move toward independent servicing in months 4–6, with emphasis on guest satisfaction and total-look outcomes. The role requires a passion for beauty, exceptional guest service, and eagerness to learn technical skills and product knowledge.

Qualifications

• Cosmetology license required.
• Basic salon techniques for haircutting, color, styling, and treatments.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional guest service and support store goals for retail and service sales.
• Support mentor stylist in meeting sales and productivity goals for hair services and products through add‑on recommendations, shampoo and treatment process, blowouts and styling, color applications, foils, sanitation, pre‑booking, and retail recommendations.
• After month three, perform hair services including hair design, haircuts, color, texture, hair treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, brow services, and ear piercing (where applicable).
• Perform product demonstrations with guests to drive sales.
• Support in‑store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives.
• Stay informed on industry trends, products, and services.
• Maintain prompt, regular attendance.
