Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation in Carson, CA is hiring full-time Operations Trainees at Wilmington and Carson locations. You will monitor and operate complex process equipment, ensuring safe, environmentally sound, and efficient production.

The role requires completion of pre-employment assessments, operator training, and ongoing drug/alcohol screenings. Candidates should have education in STEM or related fields and be willing to work 12-hour shifts, including nights, with overtime.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required, plus one of: Associate’s degree in Process Technology, Mathematics, Science, a technical or chemical discipline, or related field.
• Four-year STEM-related degree (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics).
• Three years of refining operations experience; or five years in the petrochemical industry.
• Military experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, regulate and operate complex process equipment to produce quality products safely and efficiently.
• Work in a safety-sensitive environment and complete required training and screenings.
• Operate on 12-hour rotating shifts and be available for overtime.
