Job summary

GC Products LLC, a subsidiary of Armstrong World Industries, is seeking a Jr./Apprentice Machinist to learn CNC router operation and mold fabrication for cement-based and gypsum-based products. You will work under the guidance of senior programmers/operators while developing essential CNC skills.

Responsibilities include setup, file prep, and ongoing safety training; opportunities for growth, coaching, and a competitive benefits package are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Vocational training in machining or CNC operation preferred.
• Interest in learning CNC programming and mold fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Learn to create and prepare drawings/files for mold fabrication.
• Assist in the setup and operation of CNC routers under supervision.
• Develop proficiency in Enroute and Mastercam for CNC cutting and file prep.
• Support CAD and molding departments with general tasks.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Assist with preventive maintenance on CNC machines and related equipment.
• Monitor stock materials and verify received materials.
• Follow GC Products safety standards and OSHA requirements.
• Train to safely operate a forklift.
• Inspect mold accuracy and assist in final fabrication adjustments.
• Participate in manufacturing efficiency and continuous improvement programs.
