Job summary

Platinum Paving and Concrete LLC in Savannah, GA is hiring an Asphalt Tack Truck/Distributor Driver to support paving operations. You will operate the distributor truck, apply tack coat, and coordinate with paving crews to ensure accurate delivery and application records.

Qualifications

• CDL required appropriate for the truck being operated.

• Tanker (N) endorsement required when the vehicle meets tank vehicle requirements.
• Hazmat endorsement is not required.
• Ability to pass required DOT drug and alcohol testing.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical and maintain a medical certificate.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, nights, and weekends.
• Dependable transportation to and from job sites.
• Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate an asphalt tack truck/distributor on paving projects.
• Apply asphalt emulsion/tack coat at the proper rate and coverage.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Load and unload tack materials safely.
• Maintain proper spray bar settings and application rates.

• Safely maneuver the truck in active construction zones.
• Maintain accurate delivery and application records.
• Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of the distributor equipment.

• Previous experience operating an asphalt distributor/tack truck preferred
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) appropriate for the truck being operated
• CDL Class B or Class A required, depending on the vehicle configuration
• Tanker (N) endorsement required when the vehicle meets federal/state requirements for a tank vehicle
• Hazmat endorsement is currently not required
• Ability to pass required DOT drug and alcohol testing
• Ability to pass a DOT physical and maintain a valid medical certificate, when applicable
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, nights, and weekends depending on paving schedules
• Dependable transportation to and from job sites
• Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position

Preferred Experience

• Asphalt paving experience
• Experience with asphalt emulsion/tack coat
• Experience operating spray bars and distributor controls
• Familiarity with paving operations and construction-site safety
• CDL driving experience
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic equipment checks
