Job summary

Brannan Companies in Denver, CO is seeking an Asphalt Quality Control Technician Lvl 2 (Req #: 431) to support QC activities on asphalt projects. You will calibrate testing equipment, collect samples, and perform tests under supervision.

Requirements include CDOT QC/QA CAPA levels and 3+ years experience. This is full-time, non-exempt, with benefits including health and life insurance, 401k, and a sign-on bonus. Some night/weekend work may be required.

Responsibilities

• Calibrates and verifies testing equipment

• Assists supervisors and managers with daily tasks
• Develops professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Mentors junior technicians and supports CDOT projects under supervision
• Availability to work some nights and weekends (including overtime)

Position Summary:

An Asphalt QC Tech II at Brannan is someone who, under the direction of experienced staff, continues to develop knowledge within Asphalt and applies applicable principles of materials engineering and standard construction practices.

Functional Responsibilities:

• Conducts calibrations and verifications of testing equipment
• Performs on-site observations, collects representative samples, and performs tests to monitor construction processes and records observations and results that are reported daily to supervisors
• Reads, reviews, and understands test procedures, standards, plans, and specifications
• Performs tests, records observations, and maintains project records for a more complex nature
• Assists supervisors and managers with day-to-day tasks
• Develops professional internal and external relationships
• Develops the attitude and skills to provide guidance and direction to other technicians
• Capable of performing CDOT projects with supervision
• Availability to work some nights and weekends (including overtime)

Position Requirements

Qualifications:

Physical Requirements:

• Standing - 6 to 8 hours daily
• Walking - 6 to 8 hours daily
• Bending/Stooping - 6 to 8 hours daily
• Repetitive Movement (shoveling/sweeping) - 6 to 8 hours daily
• Lifting (weights up to 100 lbs.) - Occasionally
• Lift and Carry (50/60 lbs. for 300 feet) - Regularly
• Push / Pull - 6 to 8 hours daily
