JOB SUMMARY

The Asphalt Plant Oiler is a critical member of the production team, responsible for ensuring the continuous, efficient, and safe operation of the asphalt plant through meticulous preventative maintenance and mechanical support. This cross-functional role involves a high degree of technical skill in lubrication and mechanical inspection, as well as the ability to operate heavy mobile equipment. • Monitor, evaluate, and maintain oil levels in gearboxes, hydraulic systems, and engines.
  • Collect oil samples for analysis to monitor component wear.
  • Conduct comprehensive 'walk-around' inspections to detect leaks, loose fittings, unusual vibrations, or frayed components.
  • Maintain detailed logs of lubrication schedules, fluid consumption, and equipment hours to assist in long-term maintenance planning.
  • Safely operate front-end loaders, skid steers, and man-lifts to move materials, feed the plant, or assist in site maintenance.
  • Serve as a cross-trained operator to cover plant personnel during breaks or peak production periods, ensuring uninterrupted asphalt production.
  • Maintain high standards of plant cleanliness by shoveling spilled material, sweeping walkways, and ensuring the control house and yard are free of debris and hazards.
  • Track and report inventory levels of lubricants, spare parts, and production materials.
  • Assist maintenance crews in performing minor mechanical and electrical repairs, including replacing belts, tightening fittings, and repairing gaskets.
  • Utilize arc welders and cutting torches for minor fabrication or repair of plant structures and equipment (where qualified).
  • Collaborate with the Plant Operator to troubleshoot operational inefficiencies or mechanical failures.
  • Actively participate in daily 'THINK' or 'TRACK' safety meetings and adhere to all OSHA and Martin Marietta safety protocols.
  • Ensure safe traffic flow within the plant yard and verify that all safety guards and emergency stops are functional and in place.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations regarding the storage and disposal of oils, greases, and other hazardous materials.
