Gerken Materials, Inc. is hiring an Asphalt Plant Grounds Person to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment at our plant site. You will support daily operations by handling materials, moving asphalt and aggregates, and assisting with routine maintenance under the guidance of plant operators.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to safety and quality work.
• Mechanical aptitude beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and organized plant environment by removing debris and materials.
• Support plant operations through material handling and site upkeep.
• Operate tools and equipment such as shovels and skid steers as needed.
• Assist with moving asphalt, aggregate, and other materials safely and efficiently.
• Support plant maintenance activities, including greasing and monitoring equipment.
• Work closely with plant operators and crew to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Follow all safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Help maintain a safe and efficient work environment.

About the Role

We're hiring an Asphalt Plant Grounds Person to support daily plant operations by helping maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. This role is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work and wants to build valuable skills in the asphalt and construction materials industry.

Employees who grow in this role will have opportunities to learn additional equipment operation and expand their responsibilities over time.

What You'll Do

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to safely access and navigate the facility, including climbing ladders
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to work outside normal business hours as operational needs require
