Job summary

APAC-AL, Inc. is seeking a skilled Loader Operator to join our Alabama construction team, supporting road projects, quarries, and asphalt plants. The role emphasizes safe operation of equipment and adherence to safety standards on diverse sites.

Applicants should have at least two years of loader experience, be able to lift up to 30 pounds, read a tape measure, and perform basic maintenance. Travel to multiple project locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
• Safe slopes on excavations and barricading.
• Locate utilities and other buried lines prior to digging.
• Perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor.
• Keep time and material records.
• Knowledge of aggregate sizes and classifications.
• Knowledge of weight requirements of loads leaving the pit.
• Travel from interstate highway to rural dirt roads from various locations.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds, walk, stoop, squat, sit, kneel.
• Knowledge of equipment and their uses
• Understand and apply basic mathematical skills (adding, subtracting, division, & multiplication)
• Knowledge of basic measurements and how to read a tape measure

Responsibilities

• Operate loader safely and efficiently.
• Responsible for safe slopes on excavations and barricading.
• Locate utilities prior to digging and ensure safe work surroundings.
• Perform basic servicing or refer major problems to supervisor.
• Keep time and material records for projects.
• Understand aggregate sizes and classifications relevant to site work.
• Ensure loads meet weight requirements for transport from the pit.
• Travel between sites as needed.
• Read a tape measure and perform basic calculations as required.
