Job summary

AJ Construction, Inc. in the Jackson Metro Area seeks an experienced Asphalt Paving Laydown Foreman to lead our paving crews and oversee operations across Central Mississippi.

You will manage job setup, crew coordination, equipment, and quality control to deliver smooth, high-quality asphalt surfaces on commercial, municipal, county, and highway projects. Strong safety focus and leadership are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Experience leading asphalt paving crews and managing paving operations.
• Ability to read project plans, specifications and grade requirements.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and timely production.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead asphalt paving crews on commercial, municipal, county, and highway projects.
• Coordinate daily paving operations to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
• Direct paver, roller, skid steer, milling, and support equipment operations.
• Read and interpret project plans, specifications, and grade requirements.
• Ensure proper mat quality, joint construction, density, and overall workmanship.
• Coordinate trucking, plant production, and field operations to maximize productivity.
• Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce company safety policies.
• Train, mentor, and develop crew members.
• Communicate effectively with project managers, superintendents, inspectors, and customers.
• Complete daily reports and document production, delays, and equipment issues.
• Monitor equipment condition and coordinate maintenance needs.

AJ Construction, Inc. is seeking an experienced Asphalt Paving Laydown Foreman to lead our paving crews and oversee asphalt paving operations throughout Central Mississippi.

We are looking for a proven leader who understands every aspect of asphalt paving—from job setup and crew management to producing a smooth, high-quality finished product. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, organized, and committed to delivering exceptional workmanship on every project.

Salary

$75,000-$95,000 per year, based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Valid driver's license (CDL is a plus)
