Job summary

CR Jackson is seeking dependable asphalt paving crew members to join our teams across South Carolina. You’ll work with experienced operators to construct highways, roads, parking lots, and other paving projects on outdoor sites.

The role involves assisting with various paving operations, staying safe, and maintaining quality workmanship. Opportunities exist for advancement into equipment operation and foreman roles in a stable, year-round contractor.

Qualifications

• Experience in asphalt paving or construction is preferred.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work in hot weather.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and night shifts as required.
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Assist paving crew with placement and finishing of hot mix asphalt.
• Rake and lute asphalt to achieve proper grade and smoothness.
• Shovel, sweep, and clean work areas throughout the paving process.
• Set up and remove traffic control devices and work zone signage.
• Assist equipment operators and truck drivers during paving operations.
• Monitor material flow and help maintain a safe, efficient work zone.
• Perform hand work around structures, curbs, inlets, and tight areas.
• Load, unload, and maintain tools and equipment.
• Follow all company safety procedures and wear PPE.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Foreman.

CR Jackson is seeking dependable, hardworking individuals to join our asphalt paving crews. As an Asphalt Paving Crew Member, you'll work alongside experienced operators and foremen constructing highways, roads, parking lots, and commercial paving projects throughout South Carolina.

What You'll Do

As an Asphalt Paving Crew Member, you'll assist with all aspects of asphalt paving operations, including:

• Assist paving crew with placement and finishing of hot mix asphalt
• Rake and lute asphalt to achieve proper grade and smoothness
• Shovel, sweep, and clean work areas throughout the paving process

• Assist equipment operators and truck drivers during paving operations

• Commitment to working safely every dayValid driver's license with a good driving record is required
• A CDL is not required, but would be an advantage
