Job summary

Kokosing is seeking an experienced asphalt paving crew supervisor in Cleveland, OH. You will oversee daily paving activities, ensure safety, and coordinate with plant operators and inspectors to meet project goals.

Responsibilities include planning daily schedule, ordering trucking, measuring area and volume, and maintaining tools. CDL preferred and a focus on quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of paving experience.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent training.
• Must have safety knowledge and traffic control know-how.
• Valid driver's license (CDL preferred).

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily work activities performed by the asphalt paving crew.
• Discuss the schedule and equipment needed for the day with the crew.
• Confirm with the plant operator about loading times, material, tonnage totals.
• Responsible for ordering the daily trucking needs.
• Determine tonnage and type of asphalt needed and notify the plants.
• Communicate with the owners, inspectors, and engineers about the paving project.
• Shovel and rake asphalt.
• Perform minor maintenance or cleaning activities of tools and equipment.
• Ability to perform calculations for areas and volume.
• Measures distances from grade stakes, drives stakes, checks grade from string line.

• Responsible for the safety of the crew and quality of workmanship.

• Asphalt related experience preferred (Traffic Control, Striping, Distributor).
