Job summary

VSS International, Inc. is seeking Distributor Truck Equipment Operators for the San Benito County area. Operate an asphalt distributor truck to spray emulsions on roads, parking lots, and other paved surfaces.

Responsibilities include daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, monitoring gauges, and adhering to safety protocols, DOT requirements, and company policies while on public roads. You will coordinate with paving crews and may perform traffic control and general labor as needed.

Qualifications

• Requires strong written and verbal communication.
• Class A license preferred.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects with good organizational skills.
• Ability to work under fast-paced, live-traffic conditions.
• Pavement preservation experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate an asphalt distributor truck to spray emulsions on roads, parking lots and other paved surfaces.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of fluids, spray systems, hoses, pumps, burners and gauges.
• Monitor gauges to maintain consistent asphalt application.
• Follow safety protocols, DOT requirements, and company policies while operating equipment and driving on public roads.
• Coordinate with paving crews, foremen and supervisors to maintain pace and quality.
• Assist with traffic control, cleanup and general labor when the distributor truck is not in use.
