Job summary

Centuri is hiring an Asphalt/Concrete Laborer to join a field team and gain hands-on experience under a Foreman. You will learn to prepare, mix, and finish concrete surfaces while prioritizing safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities include operating hand tools, maintaining equipment, and keeping sites organized. A high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver's license are preferred as you build specialized skills on the job.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License preferred.
• Desire to learn a new trade and grow skills in concrete work.

• Finish concrete flatwork including sidewalks, curbs, and driveways using hand tools.
• Load and unload equipment and materials.
• Keep worksite clean and organized and free from hazards.
• Perform maintenance and cleaning on vehicles and equipment.
• Maintain Operator Qualifications as required by industry standards.
• Follow leadership directions and perform additional tasks as needed.

As an Asphalt/Concrete Laborer, you'll receive 1-4 weeks of paid training, equipping you with the essential skills to work safely and efficiently in the field - protecting yourself, your crew, and the community. You will be led by an experienced Foreman, working alongside skilled Equipment Operators, where you'll gain valuable hands‑on experience and on-the-job training to build a strong foundation.

This role provides the opportunity to developed specialized skills in areas such as excavating, trenching, shoring, and more!

What You'll Do

• Use hand tools to finish concrete flatwork including sidewalks, curbs, driveways, ext.
• Load and unload equipment and materials
• Keep worksite clean and organized free from unnecessary hazards
• Perform regular maintenance and cleaning on assigned vehicles and equipment
• Maintain all industry required Operator Qualifications
• Perform other tasks as requested by leadership

Work Environment

• Work sites are outdoors in potentially extreme weather conditions
• All worksite safety instructions are written and spoken in English; must be fluent in English
• Work includes prolonged and repeated: lifting (including overhead, up to 50lbs); standing; climbing; kneeling; reaching and feeling; crouching and crawling
• Work is performed within the “red zone” of heavy equipment
• Working safely requires quick/accurate hand-eye coordination and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner

Legal Stuff

• Pass pre-employment, random, post‑accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens

• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record is preferred
